The fieldwork for my project involves a couple different aspects. First, I am completing a first-aid/CPR/AED course which is run by the Red Cross. The class is blended, so half is completed online and half is in a classroom. I will be receiving a certificate that is valid for 2 years following the course. Also, I will be spending some time shadowing a physician assistant at a branch of Bay State Medical Center. In addition to these things, I have been given the opportunity to ride along with the Marlboro EMTs over April vacation.

I was inspired to pursue my particular Applied Learning Project because I have always had a desire to work in the medical field. My project will definitely give me a leg up when I go to college because I will have experience in the field. Another reason I chose to pursue this particular project is because I wanted to work on my time management skills, while also stepping outside of my comfort zone.
