Opioids are drugs that affect the nervous system to relieve pain. Continued use and misuse can lead to things such as withdrawal and reliance. Opioids can come in tablets, capsules, or liquids.

WHAT IS CHRONIC PAIN?

Chronic pain is often defined as any pain lasting more than 12 weeks. It can persist for months or even longer. Other side effects such as fatigue, sleep disturbance, decreased appetite, and mood swings usually occur with chronic pain.
